Fauci Took the Fifth, Our Seniors Deserve Answers

America's seniors spent decades paying into a healthcare system they were promised would be there when they needed it most. They paid their taxes, followed the rules, and trusted their government. And this week, the man who oversaw the federal government's COVID-19 response, the man who shaped pandemic policies that upended millions of seniors' lives, sat before the United States Senate and refused to answer a single question.

Dr. Anthony Fauci invoked his Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination more than 100 times before the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee on Wednesday. More than 100 times, senators asked questions about the origins of COVID-19 and the government's handling of the pandemic. More than 100 times, the American people, and the seniors who suffered most under those policies, were met with silence.

Seniors Paid the Price. Fauci won’t answer for it.

Seniors bore the burden during the COVID-19 pandemic. They were isolated from their families. They watched loved ones die alone in nursing homes. They navigated an ever-changing labyrinth of mandates, restrictions, and guidelines, often issued by Fauci himself, with little clarity or consistency.

And now, when Congress demands answers about where the virus came from and how the government responded, the man at the center of it all won't say a word under oath?

Senator Rand Paul, the committee chairman who subpoenaed Fauci, was right to hold his feet to the fire and right to announce a contempt vote next week after Fauci's stunning refusal. America's seniors deserve to know the truth about COVID-19.

Biden and Fauci: A Legacy of Broken Promises on Drug Costs

Fauci's silence this week is just the latest chapter in a long story of the liberal establishment failing America's seniors on the healthcare costs that define their daily lives.

Under the Biden administration, Fauci served as the face of health policy while seniors watched their healthcare costs spiral. The Biden administration's Inflation Reduction Act reshaped drug pricing in ways that created chaos in the marketplace. As we've written before, nearly 3 million seniors have been forced off their chosen plans, losing dental, vision, and other critical benefits they counted on.

This is what the Left's healthcare agenda looks like in practice. Bureaucrats making promises, seniors bearing the consequences, and nobody held accountable.

That's the real Fauci legacy. A legacy that goes beyond Dr. Fauci of the magazine covers and the bobblehead dolls, and reveals a legacy of a man who championed an administration that left seniors scrambling for care, scrambling for coverage, and scrambling for answers that nobody in the Biden White House was ever willing to provide.

The Left has Never Had Seniors’ Backs

Democrats never put seniors' healthcare first. They dress their agenda in the language of compassion, but their policies consistently treat seniors as a budget line item to be managed instead of service.

When Democrats pushed their Medicare for All scheme this month, they revealed exactly what their vision for seniors looks like. Gut the benefits seniors earned and replace them with a government-run program that will cause costs to skyrocket. When polls showed that two-thirds of seniors are laser-focused on healthcare costs heading into the midterms, Democrats responded with the same tired playbook of more government control, less senior choice.

And when the architect of their COVID-19 policy was finally called to account before the United States Senate, he took the Fifth rather than face the music.

Republicans and President Trump Are Delivering

Republicans know what delivering for our seniors actually looks like. It looks like the One Big Beautiful Bill delivering a $6,000 senior tax exemption and eliminating taxes on Social Security benefits. President Trump traveled to The Villages in Florida and made a promise directly to older Americans.

Republicans have been unambiguous. Seniors built this country, and their benefits will be protected. As President Trump has said, "Under this administration, we will always protect Social Security and Medicare." That's a governing commitment backed by real legislative wins.

The contrast could not be clearer. Democrats give you Fauci, taking the Fifth, 100 times, before the United States Senate. Republicans give you President Trump and a Seniors First Agenda that actually delivers.
