Congressional Pledge
Seniors Matter for America is a conservative coalition dedicated to advancing President Trump’s SENIORS FIRST Agenda. With more than 61 million Americans over the age of 65, seniors represent one of the most powerful voices in American democracy. In 2024, seniors cast 43.3 million votes and made up 28% of the electorate while comprising only 18% of the total population.
U.S. Senate and House candidates who sign this Pledge commit to advancing the core principles and policy goals of Seniors Matter for America, and will be recognized for their commitment through our annual Champion for America’s Seniors Award.
THE PLEDGE
As a candidate for United States Congress, I hereby pledge to the seniors of my State and to the American people that, if elected, I will:
PROTECT PROMISED BENEFITS. Defend and preserve existing Social Security and Medicare retirement benefits that America’s seniors have earned, opposing any cuts to these foundational programs.
STRENGTHEN SENIOR PROGRAMS. Support and expand popular senior healthcare programs, including Medicare Advantage, that give seniors greater choice, better benefits, and higher-quality care.
CUT PRESCRIPTION DRUG COSTS. Fight to lower the cost of prescription drugs for seniors and increase their availability and access, ensuring that no senior is forced to choose between medication and basic necessities.
REDUCE TAXES ON SENIORS. Advance meaningful tax relief for seniors, including elimination of federal taxes on Social Security benefits, so that retirees can keep more of their hard-earned income.
PROMOTE LONG-TERM CARE AFFORDABILITY. Champion policies that make nursing home care, assisted living, and long-term care more affordable and accessible for seniors and their families.
REJECT SOCIALIST CONTROL OF HEALTHCARE . Reject policies that support total government control of healthcare such as the Democrat Medicare for All scheme that would threaten seniors' care and result in a massive tax increase.
